BUT GÉNÉRAL DE LA FORMATION

Mettre en relation l'image synthétique et l'art contemporain et offrir les outils de base pour modeler en trois dimensions avec un aperçu des différents logiciels d’animation 3D pour la réalisation d'un projet artistique.

JOUR 1

1. Introduction
1.1. Relation entre l'image synthétique et l'art contemporain
1.2. L’animation 3D comme outil de l'art contemporain
1.2.1. Introduction à la représentation en animation 3D
1.3. Aperçu des différents logiciels d’animation

JOUR 2

2. Introduction des composantes en 3D avec des logiciels gratuis
2.1. Édition d'objets, de graphiques et de photographies
2.3. Intégrations possibles des connaissances dans un projet artistique

La formation sera offerte en anglais, mais il sera possible de discuter en français.
Les participants qui possèdent un ordinateur portable sont priés de l’apporter.

Le travail de Michelle Romero (Mexicali, Basse-Californie), tente d'interroger de manière intime les limitations qui affectent traditionnellement ou circonstanciellement la vie de l'être humain et de réfléchir sur la science et le mythe à travers des images numériques et électroniques. Elle détient une licence en Sciences de la Communication de l'Université Autonome de Basse Californie (UABC) et une Maîtrise en Synthèse des Images et des Animations par Ordinateur à l'Université des Iles Baléares dans le cadre du programme de soutien à la production audiovisuelle. Une bourse lui a été accordée en 2000 par l'Agence espagnole de Coopération Internationale, ainsi qu´une autre en 2007 par le Fonds Spécial pour la Culture et les Arts de Basse Californie. Elle enseigne à l´École des Arts l´UABC. Elle a présenté ses oeuvres à Palma de Mallorca, Los Angeles, Tijuana et Mexicali.

GENERAL GOAL OF THE WORKSHOP
To situate the synthetic image in contemporary art and to provide basic tools for three-dimensional modelling and an overview of the 3-D animation software used to carry out artistic projects.

PROGRAM

DAY 1

1. Introduction
1.1 Synthetic images and contemporary art
1.2 Three-dimensional animation as a tool in contemporary art
1.2.1 Introduction to representation in 3-D animation
1.3 Overview of animation software

DAY 2

2. Introduction to 3-D components with freeware
2.1 Producing objects, graphics and photographs
2.3 Possibilities for incorporating 3-D skills into an artistic project

The workshop will be given in English, but discussion can be in French. Participants who own a laptop computer are asked to bring it with them.

Michelle Romero (Mexicali, Baja California) enquires in an intimate manner into the limitations which traditionally or circumstantially affect our lives and reflects on science and myth using digital and electronic images. She holds an undergraduate degree in communication sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) and a master’s degree in computer-generated image synthesis and animation from the Universitat de les Illes Balears audio-visual production program. In 2000 she was awarded a bursary from the Agencia española de cooperación internacional, and another in 2007 from the Fondo especial para la culture y las artes de Baja California. She teaches at the Escuela de Artes of the UABC. Her work has been exhibited in Palma de Mallorca, Los Angeles, Tijuana and Mexicali.
